"The garden serves as a way to protect endangered species that are native to China and other countries as well. The Qinling Mountains National Botanical Garden currently features over 6,000 rare plant species and covers 458 square miles. With a cost of $66 million dollars the Qinling Mountains National Botanical Garden is a large investment in preserving biological resources. The Qinling Mountains provides the perfect setting for a botanical garden with it's rich soil and perfect temperatures. The Qinling Mountains National Botanical Garden is also used as a base for scientific research and biodiversity study, as well as ecotourism and for teaching purposes. Chinas botanical garden is immense in size, more than four times as large as the botanical garden in Australia's Queensland Botanical Gardens and covers a wide variety of eco climates from plains to hills and high mountains. There are also many rare species of animals such as pandas and golden monkeys in the garden.

In addition to the more than 3,000 types of native plants that are found in the Qinling Mountain National Botanical Gardens, there are also a wide variety of temperate plants as well as tropical and sub-tropical plants and the academy of the botanical gardens intends to invest an additional $36 million dollars in the collection of rare plants and endangered species.
