Stories about this culinary travel experiences

  • Heineken forms an interesting contrast with local breweries, like Brouwerij 't IJ. 125.800.000.000 litres of Heineken beer is sold in more than 170 countries. And whether you like multi national beer producers, or not, fact is that Heineken is perhaps the most famous Dutch brand across the world (besides Johan Cruyff, that is), so definitely deserves to be mentioned among the Famous Flavours of Amsterdam.

  • Three days after the prohibition - the ban on sales of alcohol - was ended, a ship loaded with Heineken beer arrived in the United States, the beginning of a world-dominating export strategy.

  • In 1868 Heineken opened their brewery in the building now in use as the Heineken experience. A small scale beer-based Disneyland, is possibly the best description for the Heineken experience. Information, action, expositions, movies, games and tastings are combined into an easy accessible multi-sensory spectacle.

  • "We’re not the Heineken Museum, we’re the Heineken Experience. Why? Because four levels of interactive experiences in the former brewery will plunge you chin deep into the fascinating world of Heineken! See it, hear it, smell it, taste it and enjoy it. Welcome to the Heineken Experience." source: www.heinekenexperience.com
